Global MES roll-outs Practical examples from international digitalisation and roll-out projects

Our experience, gained from numerous international projects, ranges from connecting individual plants to roll-outs across multiple sites within global production networks. The following case studies demonstrate how the MES Suite PROefficient has been successfully implemented at international sites, creating standardised processes and transparent data structures worldwide.

Group-wide reporting based on an international MES standard

The building materials and infrastructure sector

MES installations and roll-out at a world-leading manufacturer in the landscaping sector, with sites/operating companies currently in place in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Slovakia, Romania and Poland. Further operating companies in Denmark, the Netherlands and Australia are already planned. In addition to standardised reporting for group controlling, the optimisation of production processes is also being driven forward and implemented on an ongoing basis.

Standardised production data for plants in Germany and Poland

Plumbing and Building Services Engineering

A fittings manufacturer is installing an MES system in its production plants in Germany and Poland. Data is collected, visualised and continuously analysed at more than 800 workstations. The SAP system, the quality assurance system and the performance-related information for payroll accounting are all supplied with up-to-date and tamper-proof data.

Greater transparency and predictability at international sites

Use-Case_automobilindustrie

Automotive industry

An international car manufacturer is expanding the use of its MES system, which has proven its worth in Germany. To address existing gaps in real-time data collection at overseas sites, the tried-and-tested system is now being rolled out to further locations. The first sites to be covered are the plants in Slovakia and China. The strategic foundations for this were laid in just two joint workshops. Just eight weeks later, implementation began, including user training.

The benefits were already evident during the commissioning phase: the ERP system is now fed with accurate real-time data, which massively improves the predictability of production and all logistics processes.

MES roll-out in Thailand optimises production planning and manufacturing efficiency

Use-Case_Edelstahl-und-Metallindustrie_blau

Stainless steel and metal industry

An internationally active client with a production site in Thailand develops and manufactures high-quality products, including sophisticated pipes and fittings, connectors and seals. The high quality standards and wide range of variants require efficient and transparent production planning.

To optimally manage its manufacturing processes, the company utilises, in particular, the order sequencing function within our MES module. The result is greater adherence to delivery deadlines, increased manufacturing efficiency and improved transparency across the entire production process.

Long-term partnership for global production processes

Agricultural and horticultural supply industry

An internationally active manufacturer of substrates continues to rely on its international partnership with BDE Engineering GmbH following a successful release update. We are supporting this internationally active manufacturer of Culture Substrates in optimising its production processes and further developing its sites worldwide.

MES Rollout with End-to-End S/4HANA Integration

Food Industry

MES rollout with a standardized template and a fully integrated S/4HANA connection at a globally renowned confectionery manufacturer. Many international locations (Germany, France, Spain, Hungary, Austria, Denmark, the UK, and the U.S.) have already been connected.

Digital Transformation reaches U.S. Plants

Use-Case_Vliesstoff-und-Nonwoven-Industrie_blau

Felt and Nonwoven Industry

The nonwoven fabric specialist has relied on BDE Engineering’s MES solution for production at its European plants for years. Now, the digital transformation is also reaching its U.S. locations.

Succeed in Scaling Internationally with Proven MES Templates

Plumbing and Building Services Engineering

A global manufacturer and supplier of building services and plumbing systems has also chosen BDE Engineering for its Croatian plant.

By opting for a proven MES system from BDE Engineering, the company ensures, above all, maximum investment and planning security. Since the software structures, processes, and interfaces are already familiar as templates from existing plants, the costs for licenses, implementation, and training can be calculated precisely, and unforeseeable project risks during the rollout can be drastically minimized. At the same time, the standardized system landscape ensures end-to-end transparency.

Successfully Adapting European Best Practices to U.S. Plants

Felt and Nonwoven Industry

Another nonwovens specialist is expanding its proven PROefficient MES software globally and is now ensuring a uniform standard for digital manufacturing across the Americas as well. Following the successful rollout using a proven template in Europe, the integration of the plants there enables seamless collection of machine data across continents. Through this consolidation, the company benefits from global transparency, which enables direct comparison of key performance indicators and highly flexible resource planning. In addition, thanks to the familiar system architecture, optimized processes and best-practice solutions from the European plants can be transferred to the new locations much more quickly.
